In 2022, China's outdoor portable power supply market experienced explosive growth, with sales surging by 1,000%. Currently, China accounts for 90% of global shipments of outdoor portable power supplies. According to a report by HJResearch, the market offers a wide variety of these products, with models priced between 80,000 and 160,000 yen achieving the highest sales volumes.

The rise of global outdoor tourism has driven the adoption of portable power supplies—enabling the use of devices like mobile phones and laptops outdoors—and spurred expansion into the outdoor portable power market. There are currently over 20,000 companies in China alone involved in the mobile power sector, with 53.7% of them established within the last five years. Major global players in the outdoor power bank market include Mitsubishi, Toyota, Nissan, Tesla, Denso, and Mississippi Power; these six companies collectively hold a 40% share of the global market.

However, the utilization rate of these outdoor portable power supplies remains relatively low, and many people have expressed safety concerns, citing significant potential risks that could lead to accidents.

HJResearch believes that the rising demand for outdoor portable power supplies also reflects consumer needs regarding battery life. When away from home, the battery life of electronic devices often falls short—particularly with computers, which can quickly run out of power and disrupt work progress.
